Whenever my younger brother and me planned to go to Raipur for recreational purpose like watching movies in theater etc. We used to sit in any garden for little rest. This time we decided to visit my college where I graduated from- NIT Raipur. This was the first time visit to here after earning degree. Though we both had attempted to visit here in a Tech Fest of any year when we used to live on rent in Raipur. At that evening we were denied for not having ID cards. But this time we came here in Nov 2022 though not pre-planned.
Though the new main gate of the college campus had been noticed many a times whenever I passed by, we took entry to the college through this gate.
An enough wide gate with metalic arches and ” NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY RAIPUR” is written over them with metalic letters both in Hindi and English. In our time the gate was simple without arches, tiles, granite or metals.

The main entry road was bifurcated by the front garden of the college which had tall partially shadowing trees inside them. Now it seems new trees have been planted along the main entry road after half way through it and barricades are being used for road bifurcation to the left and right.
Visiting any particular places, though there might have lots of memories related to those, only a few of them prominentaly represent those places.
In second half of the day, I remember, in a Tech Fest when yellowish low angled Sunlight was falling upon the college, an event based on questioning and answering doing by a presentor and groups of participants was going on.
When we were passing by the main entry gate of the college building, I stopped and requested gaurds at there for allowing me to take picture of the same. Foundation as well as inaugural marble stones have been installed on the left and right wall of the gate respectively. Reading and seeing names of two great leaders of the country make me feel little proud always.

At the time of the admission into the college while finding difficulties in some section of the admission form, Papa and me had approached to the director of the NIT Raipur whose room is just next to the right of the building entry gate. We had been then directed to a faculty or staff of the college by the director.
At late winter evening while whole college-campus used to be in darkness, buildings inside were illuminated by lights, streets with streetlights, me and group of my classmates sometimes used to be there for placement/ Tech Fest purpose discussing stuffs here at the front of collge building. I remember those gentle cold evenings.

From main entry gate to the left most side of the college building leaving space only for another entry gate there used to be an angled nose-in parking with concrete dividing blocks. This was for bikes for convenience point of view and to decongest the dedicated parking space behind the canteen. Parking was also allowed to the other side of the front road. Peopel used to park vehicles at other side of the building as well.

Canteen section has not changed much. In terms of changes, presence of Amul outlet was one among others where in this visit we bought snacks and frooti packs, and little changes here and there. Timber like cement railings around sitting space, old Banyan tree can be seen as they were. Groups of students discussing and chilling out can be seen sitting on cement platform around Banyan tree as we used to be there in college days.

From Architecture building to staff residence section few changes can be seen here and there. Guest house has been constructed, paving block have been installed both sides of the metalled road. So this section is being used as parking lot. Partially visible new girl hostels can be seen from here.
Nothing new was visible in the garden which is against canteen section.

One monsoon day, sky fully covered with little heavy clouds, in our school days. Papa had made us visited this college, NIT Raipur. At that time we had not much idea about this college, it’s admission process etc.. After a brief visit of the college campus, we were leaving parking space, one college student( as we assumed him to be) with macho style in a bike overtook us creating loud silencer sound and joined city road. We, three, in a bike were enthralled. We three opened conversation enthusiastically among us and Papa said: ” Ye hote hain engineer !, padhai se ghuma hua dimag thik karne ke liye aise chalaate hain bike. ”
